Perfection is something really hard to define in someone. In my opinion, a perfect kid in high school should do both things, have fun and learn at the same time. I think is no fair to be so strict with students that are responsible and diligent. They deserve the opportunity to have some fun while working to keep up their grades. Measuring their success is hard to plan it up and make it happen. In my opinion, I will give them the opportunity to express all what they learned by doing a portfolio because it brings them a lot of benefits such as expressing their thoughts. Also, I will make them do big projects such as science fair or any computer program to help them improve their skills. But it is always hard to measure a success because success is no always what we see.
I would no like paying students to improve their grades, but if is necessary, I will do it. First of all, punish them will no be a bad idea at all, but it will be unfair, unless the parents agree with it. If I could give them incentives, I will talk to their parents first. Parents have to punish them so they can do well at school by taking their phones, or no letting them go outside with their friends. If that doesn't work at all, I'll pay them money. If the students don't care at all, I will make them attend to a student meeting every single day after school until they realize school is the root of a good future. For the ones who do really well at school, I will make them take college level classes even though they might find it changeling, but that's the point. I will make them take hard test every two weeks until they get the highest scores so they can go to college easily.
Being able to change school sounds interesting. If I could change school, I will just change the schedule. I will make them spend more time at school to they can learn. I have to push students in the beginning and later everything can be normal. I will be harsh by making them come to school at seven o'clock in the morning to start class at seven thirty. They may go home at 3:15 as usual. Teachers should make the class more challenge and they should give them homework everyday. Also, teachers should give students a quiz every single week in every class. Projects should be require every month with a presentation in the class. Sometimes students should work individually or in small groups. I will change schools days. School should be held from Friday to Saturday, but Saturday schedule should be different. Saturday schedule should be from 9:00AM to 4:30PM. But it does not to have a regular school day, it must be like a helpful day school. Teachers should send a request with the name of the student and hour, so the student have his/her own Saturday schedule.
I must be a strict person to students in the beginning of the year. These rules will be applicable only in the first five months, after five months, if I see good results everything will be different and less stressful. It is better to have positive incentives because it helps students do for what they will earn in the end, but sometimes is good to have negative incentives like punish them with Saturday school because it will help them realize that doing good at school by their own will be successful. Competition is always a good thing between classmates. Everyone in the school should a incentive to compete. For example, I should give away a good MacBook to the best student. Everyone should perform what they learn in their own. I don't want them to provide the same and at the end the best get lazy, but also I don't want anybody to fall behind because I want the best for their future.
This short clip demonstrates how important incentives are in determining human behavior, especially economic behavior.
